Faculty, staff, and students have several options to access or download Microsoft Visio.

Please review the following information and select a download option that fits your role and requirements. If you need assistance determining your best option, contact the Technology Support Center.

Microsoft Visio Online for University Use

Visio Online (read only)

Free for Faculty, Staff, & Students

  • Microsoft Visio Online with READ ONLY capabilities is available to faculty, staff and students to use online as a Microsoft 365 browser based app on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Launch Visio Online (Read Only)
Visio Online (full access)
  • Visio Online (full access) is for purchase by faculty and staff to gain write access and to create flowcharts.
  • Allows access to local computer installation
  • **License must be renewed yearly.**
  • Primary email address must be @uconn.edu

Free for Faculty, Staff, & Students

  • Microsoft Visio Online is available to faculty, staff, and students to use online as a Microsoft 365 browser based app on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Microsoft Visio in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Free for Faculty & Students enrolled in STEM programs only. Download & Instructions

  • Includes access to a local computer installation of the latest version of Visio.
 

Please Note:

Visio Online (read only) and Visio Online in Office 365 are online only.

Visio Online (full access) and Visio in Azure Dev Tools for Teaching include access to a local computer installation of the latest version of Visio.

To install the desktop version of Visio included in the Visio Online (full access), log into https://admin.microsoft.com/account#installs, click on Apps & devices on the left, you should see Visio, select the Language and Windows version (64-bit vs. 32-bit) and click the blue Install Visio button.
