Eligibility

SPSS is a campus-wide site license available for distribution to faculty and staff (not students) at all UConn campuses.

Cost

The cost of SPSS, base and all modules (see above), is $275.00 per license. Once purchased, there will be no additional yearly renewal fees and the license will not expire. If you choose to stay with the purchased version, there will be no additional fees. However, if you choose to upgrade to a new version, when it is made available to UConn, the cost will be $275.00.

Distribution

SPSS may be purchased at the University Information Technology Services Business Office located in the Math Science Building (MSB), ground floor, room 049. Bring a picture ID to prove your affiliation with the University and a transfer voucher or check as acceptable payment. Make the check out to University ITS. You will need to sign a license before the software package is released to you.

When installing SPSS 17 it is advised that you also install the current hotfix patches found on the SPSS website http://support.spss.com

Special Needs

Memory requirements:

  • Built-in memory: 64MB (128MB recommended)

  • Total memory: 128MB total of built-in memory plus virtual memory (if on)

  • Available memory: 32MB must be free for the application to launch

Other Information

Various labs have SPSS installed for your use. Due to hardware limitations, you may find the entire package or a partial of the package(Basics, Advanced and Professional) installed. Inquire at the lab.
