Eligibility

SPSS is a campus-wide site license available for distribution to faculty and staff (not students) at all UConn campuses.

Cost

The cost of SPSS, base and all modules (see above), is $275.00 per license. Once purchased, there will be no additional yearly renewal fees and the license will not expire. If you choose to stay with the purchased version, there will be no additional fees. However, if you choose to upgrade to a new version, when it is made available to UConn, the cost will be $275.00.

Microsoft Windows XP (Professional, 32-bit) or Vista® (32-bit or 64-bit), Windows 7
Hardware:
Intel® or AMD x86 processor running at 1GHz or higher
Memory: 1GB RAM or more recommended
Minimum free drive space: 800MB***
DVD drive
Super VGA (800x600) or higher-resolution monitor
For connecting with PASW Statistics Server, a network adapter running the TCP/IP network protocol
Web browser: Internet Explorer 6 or 7


PASW Statistics 18 for Mac Operating system:

Apple® Mac 10.5x (Leopard™) and 10.6x (Snow Leopard™). (32-bit and 64-bit)
Hardware:
Intel processor

Contractual Information

Established Terms of Contract:

Distribution

SPSS may be purchased at the University Information Technology Services Business Office located in the Math Science Building (MSB), ground floor, room 049. Bring a picture ID to prove your affiliation with the University and a transfer voucher or check as acceptable payment. Make the check out to University ITS. You will need to sign a license before the software package is released to you.

Special Needs

The last version compatible with PPC-based Mac's is SPSS 16. PASW Statistics 18 (aka SPSS 18) only works with Intel-based Mac's.

Other Information

Various labs have SPSS installed for your use. Due to hardware limitations, you may find the entire package or a partial of the package(Basics, Advanced and Professional) installed. Inquire at the lab.
