Other Information
Apple's new operating system, Snow Leopard, is now available. I have been testing the various pre-release versions for some time and offer the following as guidance if you are considering upgrade.
1.) At least for now, access to Novell volumes from a Mac running Snow Leopard is not possible unless using an sftp client (Fetch, Cyberduck, Fugu, etc.). Windows computers are not effected by this bug. A patch to the Novell operating system is being tested that might help and expected upgrades to both the Mac operating system and Novell will return standard access without need of clients or other applications probably by the end of November.
2.) Testing of an undate version of Symatec antivirusfor Mac is ongoing and without significant issues to date. Assuming that remains true, Snow Leopard should have an official antivirus application soon to replace the only one now available that does work (ClamAV).
