Microsoft - Office, Windows (Campus Plan)

Overview

On July 1, 2004, UConn purchased the Microsoft Campus Plan (in addition to the Select Agreement) that makes available limited software products, greater benefits, and at a minimal costs to departments, schools, and individuals. The departments and schools can now upgrade their staffs, labs and classroom computers, bringing them to a common and/or current standard.

Campus Plan Software Products Include:

  • Microsoft Windows Upgrade. There is an assumption that an operating system is already installed onto the PC.

  • Microsoft Office for both Windows and Macintosh

  • Microsoft CALs (Client Access Licenses) for Windows, Exchange, SMS, Sharepoint Portal.

Eligibility

Faculty and staff of all UConn campuses.

Cost

The cost is $10.00 for each product (CD).

Contractual Information


  • All software MUST be installed on University owned personal computers (includes labs, classrooms).

  • The software cannot be used for personal work.
  • The software cannot be installed at home (see Home Use Option).

  • An agreement paper, the right to distribute within the guidelines outlined in the contract, must be signed by every recipient of the software products.



Distribution

To purchase a software, please fill out and sign the Users Acceptance Form and bring it along with a transfer voucher to the University Information Technology Services Business Office located in the Math Science Building (MSB), ground floor, room 049 to pick up the CD. University faculty and staff may also download Microsoft Office to University-owned computers on campus at the following web page: http://officeupdate.uconn.edu.
